Essau Senior Secondary School Library refurbished

Essau Senior Secondary School Library has been refurbished by Swaidou Sonko and Family Jileng Kunda Project

The refurbishment of the school library would contribute immensely to the academic performance of students.

Adama Jeng, Principal of the School described the library as a power house in educational development and called for more partnership and collaboration with institutions, NGOs and philanthropists to contribute to quality education.

He noted that the support extended to the school by Jileng Kunda Family Project, demonstrated the family foresight of giving back to the community to advance educational development and health.

“The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) with support from Kuwaiti funds will soon start major works to enhance teaching and learning.  There is a need for major infrastructural development to meet the growing population of schools,’ he said.

Swaidou Sonko, Chief Executive Officer of Jileng Kunda Project, thanked the management of the school for their commitment to quality education.  She noted that the charitable organisation was established in 2018, with a mission of improving the lives of underdeveloped institutions.

Madam Sonko called on institutions and communities to value the contribution of Non-profit organisations and urged citizens alike to emulate and support the development of the society.

She thanked her partners in the USA and asserted that every child should have the opportunity to learn in a safe and conducive environment while hailed educators for their selfless services to humanity.

Ousman Corr, Cluster Monitor for Essau Cluster commended management and staff for their selfish sacrifice towards academic performance and sporting.  He said the support would add more value to the overall attainment of quality education and assured that the library will be fully utilised.

Mr Corr appealed to communities and individuals to support and invest in education, noting that it would contribute to improvement and harness human resource development.

Omar Sonko, Chairman Parents Teachers Association, said the handing over of the refurbished library by Jileng Kunda Project would trigger more community participation.  He noted with concern that parents should be regularly visiting schools to monitor academic performances of their children.

Lang Njie, alkalo of Essau and Mustapha Sise Representative of Lower Nuimi District Tribunal thanked the family for the support to the health facility and school.
