Ebou Mala’s Children Foundation gives out support to communities, institutions

Ebou Mala’s Children Foundation, a humanitarian charity giving support to the poor and vulnerable communities, has leaped again to support different communities and government institutions including Gambia Fire and Rescue Services with materials

Speaking at the ceremony, Fatou Bah founder of the Foundation said the Foundation was prompted to give such humanitarian support after conducting community monitoring assessment.

“In the past few weeks, we have visited many schools, communities and hospitals in different part of the country for auditing, monitoring and impact assess evaluation. It was indeed disheartning to see how our initial support was impacting the lives of many vulnerable children and families in the area of health and education, and communities that were badly affected by the devastating windstorm,” she said.

According to her, their countrywide tour helped them to see so many development gaps to fill and that “a lot of work that needs to be done to complement the government’s effort.”

She commended her foundation’s donor – UK-based national police convoy, while saying “We hope to continue our collaboration and work with other NGOs, community leaders to create a friendly learning environment for our children and better equip our hospitals.”

Karamo Ceesay, Councilor of Talinding south thanked the charity for its continuing support to communities especially his ward.

“ENCCF since their intervention in the Gambia, they signed a MoU with the ward development community in Talinding south and then we have been receiving several containers from them, these containers are all geared towards helping the government in solving certain needs,” he said.

A volunteer with UK national police convoy, Dennis Nyamanhindi expressed happiness for being part of the humanitarian support to people in the country

He said: “I’m glad to be part of the team that is providing this aid, I really appreciate that everything we do in the UK and bring here has been appreciated in the Gambia and I think there is a need for us to do more. “

Samba Bah who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the charity organization for the support, describing the support as timely.

The communities really need your support especially during this hard time of COVID-19, he said.
