UN Volunteer visits MOYS with plan to youth service programme

United Nation’s Volunteers (UNV) Regional Office for West and Central Africa based in Dakar Senegal on Tuesday 15th June, 2021 visited the Ministry of Youth and Sports under the leadership of Honourable Bakary Y. Badjie, the Minister.

The delegation led by Paul Armand MENYE Deputy Regional Manager, UNV Regional Office for West and Central Africa was meant to discuss way forward to support the rolling out of mandatory youth service by the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSS) which institution is under this Ministry.

The delegates’ intention is to start the youth service programme that aim at focusing on university graduates to participate in voluntary Youth Service Scheme. Their discussions were cantered on how to support NYSS and MOYS.

Meanwhile, the Youth and Sports Minister was at the event to represents His Excellency, Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia.

Presidents Adama Barrow and Macky Sall have been presented awards for their leadership in unifying Senegambia through infrastructure and promotion of socio-economic and political ties.

Additionally, Gambia was awarded for our maiden AFCON qualification.
