Amadiyah Muslim Jamat Donates Foodstuffs to Brikama Market Fire victims

Amadiyah Muslim Jamat has donated foodstuff to the recent fire victims and among other needy in the West Coast Region (WCR) through the regional governor; held at WCR governor office.

The gesture includes 70 bags of rice, 14 bags of sugar, 71 gallons of cooking oil and 70 bags of onion.

It aimed to supporting both the recent Brikama market’ fire victims as well helping the needy in this trying time to mitigating the challenges.

Baba F. Trawally, Amir of the Amadiyah Muslim Jamat in the Gambia said his office deems it necessary to response to the coronavirus pandemic in this trying time in order to mitigate the people’s challenges.

He described the pandemic as global crisis that needs unity and solidarity to mitigate its effects on the masses. He added that WCR has highest population in the country; therefore, it needs mare assistant in this point.

“Is a national unity at this time, we need to come together so that the needy can be assisted,” he said.

He said added that the part of this gesture is to assist the recent victims of fire outbreak in the Brikama Market.

Amir Trawally called on all and sundry to help the needy as well pray to the Allah almighty to wipe out all the challenges affecting humanity.

for its generosity to the people of West Cost, saying the gesture will go a long way in assisting the poor in this difficult time.

He said the Amadiyah Muslim Jamat is well known for their generosity to the public citing that they had provided foodstuffs to all the regions across the state.

Governor Sanneh described the gift as very important to the beneficiaries as some people lack the financial capacity to provide all their needs. “Therefore, if someone provide support to the people is very necessary,” he added.

He said this market is the busiest business center in the country, adding that their intervention on the market is relevant in easing the fire victims lost.

“All foodstuffs will go the needy people of the region. We will have assessed the entire region, so we know the vulnerable in the region. It will reach them,” he assured.
