The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) will launch its Women’s Football Strategic Plan 2026–2030 on 14 and 16 May at the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum, the federation said on Monday.
The plan is aimed at guiding the development, sustainability and long-term growth of women’s football in The Gambia over the 2026–2030 period.
According to the GFF, the initiative seeks to strengthen participation in leagues, grassroots football, coaching, refereeing and national team activities.
Women’s football has recorded growth in recent years under GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo, with increased involvement across different levels of the game, the federation said.
The launch, themed “Building Stronger Pathways for Women’s Football Development,” will bring together stakeholders from government institutions, educational bodies, football clubs and the media.
The GFF said the engagement is intended to enhance partnerships, improve visibility of women’s football and expand opportunities for girls and women in the sport.
