Young Icons and Star Academy record emphatic wins in women’s third division

Young Icons and Star Academy FC registered commanding victories in Match Week 3 of the NBRFA 2025–2026 Women’s Third Division League, delivering high-scoring performances in their respective fixtures.

At Kuntaya Football Field, Young Icons thrashed Jokadou United 12-0 in a one-sided encounter dominated from start to finish. Jojo Kanyi opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 13th minute, setting the pace for a prolific display.

Mariama Hydara netted twice in quick succession, while Astou Nyang and Fatoumatta Y. Njie also found the back of the net as Young Icons surged ahead. Aminata Kanyi, Adama Secka and Kumba K. Bah added further goals before halftime.

Kanyi went on to complete a hat-trick, while Njie grabbed her second goal of the match to seal the emphatic victory.

In another fixture played at Essau Football Field, Star Academy FC defeated Jay’s FC 10-1 in a dominant performance.

Nanding Demba led the scoring with four goals, while team captain Fatou Jallow recorded a hat-trick. Additional goals from Isatou Jallow, Haddy Nyang and Jainaba Dumbuya completed the rout.

The results highlight strong attacking form from both teams as the league campaign gathers momentum.
