The Gambia women’s Under-20 national football team have arrived in Bissau ahead of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone A Women’s U-20 Tournament, officials said on Saturday.
The team, known as the Young Queens, departed Banjul on Friday and arrived safely in the host city as they begin their preparations for the regional competition.
Led by head coach Joseph Jabang, the squad is expected to undergo a period of rest and acclimatisation before intensifying training ahead of the tournament.
The players had been training at the National Technical Training Centre prior to departure and are now focused on representing The Gambia in the competition.
The Young Queens are expected to begin full preparations in the coming days as they target a strong performance in the tournament.
