Minister Bouy Says: ‘We Don’t want to find Window Dressing in Gov’t institutions’

The Minister of Public Service, has said that his unannounced supervisory visit to Government institutions should not find window dressing in any institutions, but instead they want to see the natural situation on the ground.

Honorable Baboucarr Bouy made these remarks on Wednesday 2, 2025 during his Ministry’s unannounced routine visit to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The purpose of the visit was to know the issues the Ministry of Interior is facing in the usage of the Biometric time attendance machine and see how they can solve the problem together with the institution concern.

“We are here to see for ourselves whether Biometric time attendance machine installed here is capturing the attendance data both in terms of punctuality and regularity at work,” Minister Bouy explained.

According to Minister Bouy, during his team’s visit to the Interior Ministry, they found out that the Biometric time attendance machine at the said Ministry is capturing attendance data, but is encountering some challenges in printing the data captured by the machine.

Due to the challenges, we found at the Ministry of Interior, Minister Bouy added, they decided that immediate action be taking to fix those challenges.

He assured of his Ministry’s continue unannounced visit to Government Institutions at any time during the working hours, whether he is personally available or not.

During the visit, Public Service Minister Bouy and team interacted directly with Minister of Interior, Hon. Abdoulie Sanyang and his IT officer, highlighting the pressing challenges faced by the institution’s Biometric time attendance usage.

Hon. Bouy was accompanied to the visit by the Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Public Service Pateh Jah, Personnel Management Office, Lamin F. Jawara, Reforms Sheriff Jallow, Director, Performance Management Unit, Essa Marong, Sulayman Ndow ICT Officer MoPS and Amadou Sissoho Assistant Secretary, PMO.
