Man Confesses to Briton’s Murder

The police have apprehended a man, whoconfessed to the murder of a British national Sakina Chinedu, whose lifeless body was found in a pit at Sinchu on Monday 19 February. 

This information was revealed by the police during a press briefing at the Kairaba Police station on Tuesday. 

Commissioner Boto Keita revealed that the alleged murderer is a Sierra Leonean national. 

“The deceased was reported missing on the 14 of February and the police swiftly got into the investigation of the matter and a suspect,who is a Sierra Leonean national ,wasapprehended and he admitted to the murder of this lady,” he said.

He also revealed that during the course of the investigation, stolen items  of the deceased were recovered from the confessed murderer.

The police stated that the Sierra Leoneanconfessed to them that he used a spade to bury the deceased.

“He opened her bag and took 2 mobile phones from her. He took the key and left but he came back again to grab money. He was also found with a pistol,” Commissioner Keitarevealed.

“We also recovered the murderweapon, which is a hammer. The suspect is in custody and we are preparing the file for him to appear in court,” he added.
