Court adjourned Sinchu Alagie conspiracy case for minors to get lawyers

The Principal Magistrate for the Bundung Magistrates’ Court has adjourned the case of the eight Sinchu Alagie boys’ case to allow the minors that are included to get lawyers for themselves.

The eight boys were on Thursday in court to take their plea over the charge of threatening with violence, conspiracy, assault, and stabbing of Ousman Faal and Adama Ceesay.

Muhammed Ceesay alongside seven boys (name withheld) is the accused charged with conspiracy, assault, and threatened to kill Ousman Faal and Adama Ceesay with a knife they appeared before the court on Thursday before Principal Magistrate DawdaPhatey of Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

When the charge sheet was read and interpreted to the accused to take their plea of guilty or not guilty, the presiding Magistrate Phatey said he had observed that some of the accused were minors. ”I shall adjourn the matter for the minors to be given lawyers’’, the Principal Magistrate ordered.

Meanwhile, Muhammed Ceesay and seven other minors are standing trial on three (3) counts of conspiracy, threatening with violence, and assault causing bodily harm. According to the charge sheet Muhammed and Co. on 16 October 2023 at SinchuAlagie, West Coast Region of the Republic of The Gambia were alleged of threatening to kill Ousman Faal and Adama Ceesay, therein assaulted and stabbed Ousman and beat Adama all over his body causing him injury on his back and head.
