Four boys arraigned for violent robbery

Four boys were on Thursday arraigned before the KanifingMagistrates’ Court presided over by Chief Magistrate E. Colley for violent robbery. The names of the four boys as arraigned are Muhammad Sidibeh, Musa Faye, SalieuTaal, and Ali Dukureh, they were all charged with conspiracy and Robbery with violence.

Meanwhile, when the case was called, the prosecuting officer ASP Touray said the accused were charged with a capital offence that attracts life imprisonment if convicted. 

Thursday was the hearing day, ASP Touray said the accused who are currently in custody at mile II explained that Ali Dukureh and Musa Faye are charged with Robbery. After being bailed at the Magistrate court, Musa Faye and Ali Dukureh went and committed another crime of Robbery with violence Musa Faye went at large whilst Ali Dukureh was apprehended, and arraigned before the same Magistrate Court. 

Henceforth, he said the matter was transferred because the lower court lacked jurisdiction to hear the charge of robbery with violence while the first accused Ali Dukureh was remanded and the second accused Musa Faye absconded but was arrested and under police investigation.

Then on this date, they appeared for continuous hearing of their case of robbery where they all gained bail. The second accused Musa Faye who went at large in the case of Robbery and violence together with Ali Dukureh was apprehended by the police for Robbery and violence with Ali Dukureh. Currently, he is under police custody, helping them in their investigation. 

However, an application was made by the prosecution that the prison department to make available the accused Ali Dukureh on the next court adjournment date while the case was adjourned to 16th November 2023.
