Eight Remanded on Drugs-Related Offences

Eight people have been remanded in custody following their reported arrests on suspicion of being found in possession of prohibited drugs, DLEAG reported.  

The agency said two Nigerians were among the recently-remanded suspects.

It reported that a Sukuta resident, Muhammed Cham,18, was arrested by officers at theKanifing DLEAG station on 18 August 2023, at around 18:15hrs onwards with 19 wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white papers. 

DLEAG also reported that a 20-year-old LaminSenghore of Dippa Kunda was arrested by Kanifing DLEAG station on 18 August 2023, at around 21:24 onwards with 20 wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white papers.

A 60-year-old London Corner resident DodouJabang was reportedly arrested by officers from the Bundung DLEAG station on 17 August 2023, at around 06:50 am onwards with 34 pieces of suspected cocaine concealed in white paper and placed inside a transparent nylon bag.

Nigerian Chinwendu Amos,43, was reportedly arrested by officers of Bundung DLEAG station at Kololi on 17 August 2023, at around 9:50 amonwards with two pellets of suspected cocaine concealed in a transparent nylon bag.

Kololi resident Badou Khan,43, was also reportedly arrested by officers from BundungDLEAG station on 17 August 2023, at around 06:55 am onwards with 42 pieces, one pellet, some quantity of suspected cocaine and one stone of suspected heroin concealed in a transparent nylon bag.

24-year-old Nigerian, John Paul Aghado, was reportedly arrested by Bundung DLEAG station at Kololi on 17 August 2023, at around 21:56hrs onwards with 15 wraps of suspected cocaine and some quantities of suspected heroin concealed in a transparent nylon bag and further placed inside a transparent white and blue nylon bag and placed inside a gas cooker.

22-year-old Omar Saho of Manjai Kunda was reportedly arrested in Kololi by officers fromKotu DLEAG station on 17 August 2023, at around 17:59hrs onwards with 27 wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white paper and placed inside a multicolored bag.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Abdoulie Sowe of Latrikunda was reportedly arrested at Kotu on 17 August 2023, at around 18:20hrs onwards with six parcels of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a multicolored bag.

The suspects have been remanded in custody asinvestigations continue.
