Samba Colley, and Ebrima Manneh on Monday pleaded not guilty to the theft charge pressed against them before Magistrate Ebou Sowe of Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

When the charge sheet was read and interpreted to Samba Colley and Ebrima Manneh in the language they understood, they pleaded not guilty to being in possession of suspected stolen properties.

However, the charge filed before the court revealed that Samba Colley and Ebrima Manneh on the 22nd May 2023 at Farato, Kombo North in the West Coast Region of the Republic of The Gambia, they were found in possession of seven pairs of shoes and one Dettol soap valued at D15, 000 which may reasonably be suspected of having stolen or unlawfully obtained and they cannot give an account, thereby committed an offence.

Police prosecutor Corporal 4812, John Preirra applied for an adjournment to enable him to arrange his witness before the court while the case was adjourned to 26th June 2023 for hearing.
