UDP Candidate Wins Brikama Chairmanship Election

Candidate of the United Democratic Party, Yankuba Darboe, over the weekend, won massively in the recently conducted Local Government election in the West Coast Region.

Speaking at the regional Independent Electoral Office in Brikama, Commissioner Anthony Robert Secka announced that in Sanneh Mentereng Consistency UDP secured a total of 13,451 votes, Seedy Sherriff Ceesay for NPP 8,392, Jainaba Bah PPP – 166 votes while independent candidates Ibrahim J.S. Sanneh – 1,242 votes, Ahmed Gitteh 605, Amat M. Cham – 191 votes, Baisey Saho – 139 votes, Yankuba Barrow – 137 votes and Salieu Jallow – 97 votes respectively.

However, in the regional total votes cast, Yankuba Darboe for UDP in the Kombo Consistency gathered a total of 77,946 votes, Seedy Sheriff Cessay for NPP 52,429 votes, Ibrahim J.S. Sanneh 24,558 votes, Ahmed Gitteh 6,718 votes, Jainaba Bah for NPP 2023 votes, Yankuba Barrow 1,341 votes, Baisey Saho 1,183 votes, Amat M. Cham 1,127 and Saliue Jallow 1,022 votes respectively. 

Meanwhile, Faraba Janneh, a Regional Executive Officer commended the candidates for preaching peace to their party militants and urged them to work together for sustainable development.
