Hon Bah, others join world tourism leaders to attend 22nd edition of WTTC in Riyadh

Honourable Minister of Tourism and Culture with other tourism doyens from The Gambia on Monday joined global leaders of both public and private sectors in travel and tourism attending the 22nd edition of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a summit started 28th November to end 1st December 2022.

The theme for this year’s global Summit is Travel for A Better Future, and the annual World Travel and Tourism Council global summit is the most influential travel and tourism convergence on the calendar of events, and this year forum as usual leaders from the industry gathered with key government representatives to continue aligning efforts to support the sector’s recover and move beyond to a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.

The ongoing summit is well attended as it brought together over 2,800 people from over 140 countries around the world.

Amongst the attendees include His Excellency the President of Zanzibar of the Kingdom of Tanzania, the President and CEO of WTTC, the Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), over 50 Cabinet Ministers, plus over 250 Director Generals, Chief Executive Officers, and Heads of Travel and Tourism Institutions, Groups and Organizations worldwide.

The Gambia is ably represented by the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Honourable Hamat NK Bah who is accompanied by Mr. Mamadi Dampha, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Mr. Abubacarr S Camara, the Director General of Gambia Tourism Board and among other tourism stakeholders.
