Red Scorpions forces to its 2nd draw, security derby encounter postponed

Red Scorpions FC were forced to settle their second draw of the league, while the security derby game between The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) and The Gambia Police Force (GPF) was postponed during the Women’s 1 Division League week-10 fixtures played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori on Sunday.

Red Scorpions were forced to their second draw of the season after playing a goalless draw against Abuko United during the earlier game played at Basori on Sunday.

The Jeshwang-based team who top the women topflight league has now been forced to another setback, while the Abuko-based team, recorded their third draw of the season.

Red Scorpions who also collected eight wins, and zero wins maintained their lead at the top of the standings with 26 points, while Abuko United who also collected two wins and five defeats occupied 6th position with 9 points after 10 matches.

Meanwhile, the late security derby encounter between The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) and their security counterparts The Gambia Police Forces (GPF) couldn’t go ahead, because the female soldiers, GAF came with six players including two goalkeepers.

Meanwhile, in the earlier games played over the weekend: City Girls were held 1-1 by struggling side Brikama United during a game played at the Lives Your Dreams Sports Complex in Basori.

The draw occupied City Girls in 4th position with 14 games, while Brikama United sit 7th position with 5 points.

Elsewhere, Berewuleng FC defeated Immigration 2-1 during the late week-11 fixtures played at Basori on Saturday.

The win moved Berewuleng to 3rd position with 15 points, while the defeat dropped Immigration to the relegation on 8th position with 3 points.
