Falcons held, Banjul Utd defeated GAF in return of GFF 1st Division night games

Falcons FC were on Monday held to a barren goalless draw by Team Rhino, while Banjul United defeated The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) in the late encounter of the Banjul-derby encounter played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The early pacesetters, Falcons have been forced to collect their fifth draw of the season by Team Rhino during their week-14 fixture of the GFF 1 Division League played yesterday at 9pm at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

This is the fifth sixth draw registered by the newly promoted side Team Rhino.

The Abuko-based team Falcons overall collected five wins, five draws and four defeats after 14 games, while Team Rhino registered two wins, six draws and five defeats after 13 matches.

The draw dropped Falcons FC to 7th position with 20 points, leveling with Waa Banjul after playing a game more, while Team Rhino maintained their first-from-bottom-(14th)-position with 12 points.

Elsewhere, Banjul United defeated the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) 1-0 in the late encounter Banjul-derby game played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

This is the fifth win collected by Banjul United, while the Soldiers struggling side (GAF) suffered their seventh defeat of the season.

Banjul United overall collected five wins, four draws and five defeats after 14 matches, while GAF registered two wins, five draws and seven defeats after 14 games.

The victory moved Banjul United to 8th position with 19 points, while GAF occupied second-from-bottom-(15th) position with 11 points.

At the time of going to press yesterday, on Wednesday, Brikama United were taking on Hawks in the first encounter at 9pm, before Waa Banjul entertained Marimoo in the late kickoff.

Meanwhile, in the Second Division League, Greater Tomorrow defeated B4U Kiang West 1-0 in one of their game-in-hands reschedule games played at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum on Tuesday.

The West Coast Region-based team, Greater Tomorrow, now collected their eighth win of the season, while B4U Kiang West suffered their sixth defeat of the season.

Greater Tomorrow overall registered eight wins, two draws and four defeats after 14 matches, while B4U Kiang West collected seven wins, three draws and six defeats after 16 games.

This win moved Greater Tomorrow to 2nd position with 26 points, leveling with Tallinding United, PSV Wellingara and BK Milan respectively after playing a game more, while B4U Kiang West dropped to 7th position with 24 points.

At the time of going to press yesterday, Immigration were taking on Bk Milan at the Late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.
