Momodou Ebrima Cham of Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) who is contesting for Jeshwang constituency National Assembly seat in the upcoming NA electin, has accused APRC-NPP candidates camp of foul play as they are covering his posters with their candidate’s posters.

Sherriff Sarr who is contesting the April National Assembly elections for Jeshwang constituency under joint ticket of APRC and National People’s Party is yet to respond to this allegation.

But MC Cham Jnr said: “I just received a complaint made by Sheriff Sarr’s from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) that I hoisted a flag containing green and moved colour. But that flag has been hoisted since 2021 during the presidential campaign.”

“That flag has been there for long and they never complain about it until now because they know that the constituency needs a change and they know that the right person to stand for their needs and the interest of the country is me. They have seen someone who can fight to eradicate corruption in the country and take part in making good laws for the country and its people. And they know someone who can endeavour and champion to ensure cost of living is drastically reduced and put medicine in the hospitals is me,” he boasted.

“Everyone wants me to be elected to the National Assembly and I have been saying this candidature is not only about Gambia Democratic Congress because I have supporters from all parties in the country. And when IEC informed me of this allegation, I heard them out while I asked on which name Sheriff Sarr complained to IEC, they replied on name of APRC and he inserted APRC-NPP alliance.

“For that his flyers should be put down because he went to nomination under the name of APRC and not APRC-NPP alliance. And they have started placing his pictures on my pictures in the streets and I have not complained about that and it is wrong,” he explained.
