Bena Basse FC secured a place in the final of the 2026 Upper River Region Football Association (URRFA) Third Division League after defeating Batapa 11 FC 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw in their semi-final match played at the Basse Mini Stadium on Tuesday.
The closely contested encounter saw both sides create scoring opportunities but fail to break the deadlock during regulation time as strong defensive displays and solid goalkeeping kept the score at 0-0.
Batapa 11 FC matched their opponents throughout the match, denying Bena Basse FC clear openings and ensuring the contest remained evenly balanced until the final whistle.
With neither side able to find a winning goal, the match was decided by a penalty shootout.
Bena Basse FC converted four of their spot-kicks, while Batapa 11 FC scored three, giving Bena Basse FC a 4-3 victory and a place in the league final.
The result sends Bena Basse FC into the championship match, where they will face Sabi FC for the 2026 URRFA Third Division League title.
The final is expected to bring together two of the competition’s strongest teams as they battle for promotion and league honours.
