Gambian wrestler Building of Club Serekunda Mbolo has defeated his opponent Marigo of Club Thies Mbolo in a fight held at the Stade Manyang Sumareh in Thies, Senegal on Saturday 15th January 2022.

The fight which was organized by Seedy Diahateh Production was watched by thousands of wrestling enthusiasts.

Assan Gaye who goes by his wrestling sobriquet as “Building” used his power and energy to wrestle down his opponent Marigo in less than three minutes in front of his supporters in Senegal.

Building continued his impressive run in the Senegalese Arena, after being the first Gambian wrestler to defeat a Senegalese wrestler when he defeated Sanu in Aren Iba Marr Diop in Dakar.

Following his latest victory, the Serekunda-base wrestler also became the first Gambian wrestler to record four victories in the Senegalese Arena after defeating Sanu, Lafa De Keur Baba, Assan Chass and now Marigo respectively.

However, ahead of his encounter with Marigo, the Gambian International called for support from Gambians.

“I love my country and this is why in all my bouts I carry along the Gambian flag which I always defend with everything in me. As a young wrestler I’m in need of support and I have been writing letters seeking support but unfortunately I’m yet to receive any,” he decried.

Meanwhile, this was the first time Building was fighting in special combat (before the grand combat) in Senegal and the latest victory aims to present a great opportunity for him to have a Grand Combat next time out.
