Following his loss to Baye Madione, Gambian wrestler Hoyontan filed an appeal letter against the referee’s verdict to the Comite National De Gestion De La Luttee (CNG) of Senegal in a letter dated on Monday 27th December, 2021.

In the letter, the management of Hoyontan give details of why they believed that the referee failed to follow the rules of the game and according to them, the Thiaroye Gom Sa Bopa wrestler Baye Madione had his Four (4) Contacts (hands and legs) on the ground during the first action.

Senegalese wrestler Baye Madione was declared the winner of Saturday’s bout as he knocked the Gambian to the ground after 7 minutes of wrestling. It remains to be seen what the final verdict of the CNG will be on the bout after this appeal.

It could be recalled that, Hoyontan of Club Ndongo Ceesay accused the Senegalese CNG for preventing him from properly preparing inside the arena and also for turning down his “Chumugai”.
