Honorable Mamma Kandeh, leader of Gambia Democratic Congress has responded to President Adama Barrow over former president Yahya Jammeh’s rally speech.

Speaking to a rally at Sare Ngai, Wuli West District, President Barrow warned Kandeh that: “I am warning Mamma Kandeh to stay away from inviting Yahya Jammeh in his campaign platforms and I will tell the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to notify Kandeh before we take any action. If Kandeh thinks he can do anything he wants, we will let him know that this country is governed by a law. No matter how frustrated you are, you should know what to do. If someone is drowning in a river even if you give the person a cutlass the person will grab it. If this happens again, he will know that this country is governed by laws.”

However, Honorable Kandeh responded back saying “I want to tell Adama Barrow that tomorrow Yahya Jammeh will speak in my rally as far as he said: if that happens, he will take the law against me. I am waiting for that law against me.”

Honorable Kandeh went further to dilate on past words of the president and quickly end it that “If GDC does something against the law that is between GDC and the IEC but not Adama Barrow,” he added.

He however urged President Barrow to seek legal advice from those who know the law, saying “Since GDC was formed we have never violated the law.”
