7 institutional isolation evaders finally discharged

Seven people who had evaded Institutional isolation after testing positive for coronavirus disease have been finally discharged.

The Ministry of Health said in its situation report that no new COVID-19 related death registered, but added that five new cases were registered (cumulative cases 9,930).

“The test positivity rate is 1.0% (5/479), NPHL – 468 (5 positive) MRCG – 11 (0 Positives) of the total new cases, 4 were males and 1 female, with ages ranging from 23 – 71 years Four (4) cases are currently on oxygen therapy for reasons of testing, 4(80%) for travelling and 1 (20%) for knowing Covid-19 Status.

“No case was newly discharged from the treatment centres, while 7 got discharged at least 10 days from the day they tested positive but evaded institutional isolation,” the ministry said.

“No new contacts traced and monitored. As of 23rd September 2021, the following numbers of people have been vaccinated with:  Johnson and Johnson: Only 1 dose: 147,817. Sinopharm: Dose 1: 4,457,  Dose 2: 3,157,  AstraZeneca: Dose 1:31,862 ▪ Dose 2:20,429 Of the total national target population (≥ 18 years) been vaccinated: 11.0% are fully vaccinated (2 doses of AZ/Sinopharm or 1 dose of J&J) o 11.8% received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose (AZ or J&J or Sinopharm),” the statement stated.

According to the report, since the start of RDT for COVID-19 at The Banjul International Airport, 22,638 rapid diagnostic tests (RDT) have been conducted with 8 positives that were confirmed and treated.

“No new COVID-19-related death registered, bringing the total to 335 (Crude Case-Fatality Ratio, 3.4%) A total of 5 new cases were registered (cumulative cases 9,930).”
