Yunus Njie arraigned for false pretence

Yunus Njie has been arraigned before the Kaninfing Magistrate Court presiding over by Magistrate AB Faal for a one count of offence which he had pleaded guilty of.

The accused who was granted bail in the sum of D20,000 with one Gambian surety was on June 24, 2021 in Kairaba Avenue with false pretence and with intend to defraud, obtained from one Mariama Conteh the following goods:

Six lips medic valued at D450; ten lip shine valued at D500;  five eye liner valued at D200; ten eye brown valued at D400; two gold liner valued at D80; five face powder valued at D2000; two eye shadow valued at D350; four big eye shadow valued at D1000; one makeup box valued at D250; eleven expensive foundation valued at D7,150;  four common foundation valued at D1,200; two lip shine valued at D200; two medium eye shadow valued at D500. The total valued for all is D14,280.

This is all with the pretext that  the accused will sell the said goods and refund her money knowing or having reasons to believe that such promise was false .Thereby committed an offence.

The case was later adjourned till the 27th September 2021 at 11:00 am for hearing.
