Opposition Leader Blames President Barrow for high price of food items

Top official of Gambia Action Party has blamed President Adama Barrow and his government over high price of food items while saying President Barrow and his administration is not care about the welfares of Gambian populace.

Sheikhna Faal in an interview told this reporter that “The government has failed for not able to reduce the high price of basic commodities especially now that the Holy Month of Ramadan is fast approaching, taking into consideration his promise.”

“For how long we will continue to make laws without implementation, there is no use of those laws,” he added.

He said the government is only interested in winning election and ignore aspect of health, security and feeding and “it seems that they have no means of fighting the high rate of corruption as they are creating more harm than good.”

Mr Faal admitted that covid-19 is real, but what he could not understand is how this government is operating as he said people advising President Barrow “are always misleading him.”

In his words “this government is the most corrupt government, since he gains power no achievement has been made in his name.”

He continued: “The sovereignty of the country resides in the people, and it left to the citizens to decide 2021, presidential elections will be a history to the current government as many political parties have registered and all are hungry for developing the country.”
