Scorpion’s coach receives praises after qualifying country to AFCON

Tom Sanfiett, Belgian national who coaches The Gambia National Team has been praised for qualifying the country for its first time to the Africa Cup of Nations, after snatching a home three points defeat against Angolan national team.

The victory led to Gambia Football Federation extended his contract another five years – as part of reward for his professional coaching.

Coach Sanfiett who also celebrated his 48th birthday, said: “it is not about me but team work. It never would have been possible if our president of federation never gave me the confidence to start this job”.

He thanked the president of Gambia Football Federation, Lamin Kaba Bajo for the trust in him and the Ministry of Sports as well as the players.
