Killa Ace Donates Food Stuffs, Sanitary Materials to Prison Inmates

Killa Ace, one of the Gambia’s outspoken rapper cum activist donated food stuffs, sanitary material and face masks to inmates and wardens at Mile II State central prison recently.

The inmates received food and sanitary items such as sugar, milk, ‘garri’, tea, and sanitary pads; while the prison wardens received face masks for Covid-19 prevention.

Killa Ace whose real name is Ali Cham, also president a civil society group  ‘Team Gom Sa Bopa’ which translates- believe in yourself, intends to carry out at the prison, a development project dubbed ‘Uplift Project’, designed to improve the livelihoods of inmates post their prison lives.

Before the presentation of the items, the rapper and his delegation had a meeting with the Director General [DG] of Prisons, Ansumana Manneh. The meeting centred on the ‘Uplift Project’, and the DG recommended Killa to write to the Ministry of Interior and other relevant authorities on the subject, it added.

Other members of Killa’s his delegation include Pa Malick Jobe and Yusef Taylor [Flex Dan], also members of ‘Gom Sa Bopa’.

Killa Ace, a former detainee at the facility’s remand wing expressed commitment to supporting the inmates based on his experience, the document concluded.

This annually donation by Killa Ace and team is meant to uplift the lives of inmates at the state central prison.
