Outgoing SIC President warns the Council’s new executive to exercise patience

The outgoing president of Supreme Islamic Council has advised the council’s elected executive to bear patience and let go everything they would hear describing religious jobs as tedious especially in this generation.

Muhammed Lamin Touray speaking shortly after the council declared Sheikh Essa Foday Darboe as its new president after he swept away 89 votes in the council’s congress.

Muhammed Lamin Touray-led executive had ruled the nation’s Muslim Council’s for over a decade, while his administration has come under attacks by a breakaway group of Imams -Rawdatul – which accused Muhammed Lamin Touray-led executive of overstaying in power.

“I pray to God to give the new executive strength and protection to their jobs and for God to support them in their undertaken and for God to help us all and fulfil our goals.

“I urged you to bear patience because religious jobs are tedious especially in this present generation. Let you not respond to everything you would hear and see,” Imam Muhammed Lamin Touray advised the executive.
