Residents of Sabach Sanjal welcome construction of 50 Kilometres road

Residents of Sabach Sanjal, North Bank Region have welcomed government move by constructing a 50-kilometre road linking four the villages.

Speaking to The Voice in Ngain Sanjal, Chief Malick Bouy of Sabach Sanjal expressed delight and commended the government through Works Ministry for their concern on deplorable road condition in the district.

The designated roads are vital road networks in Sabach Sanjal as it helps to connect many communities in the area, and noted that during rainy season some businesses are severely been affected in terms of transportation of food items and other valuable.

Honorable Ousman Touray disclosed plan to work with Ministry of Youths and Sports to open recreational centre at former refugee camp at Bambali, which due to poor road network the dreams are yet to kick off.

He said the poor condition of road has affected goods and services delivery and all sector of socioeconomic, health, security, education and transportation of farm produce to the market.

The former NAM in the area Honorable Ousman Bah described the intervention by government as timely. He noted that over the years, communities in the area are carrying out community works in the rehabilitation of poor road network before the commencement of rainy season.

He called on the people to support the contractor during the implementation of project, as Sabach Sanjal has suffered seriously over the years due to bad roads and by extension affect economic activities.
