Dutch Couple gives Covid-19 food items to needy

Aad and Anna Twight-Leeuw from based in Bijilo recently donated food items to the needy people of Bijilo in Kanifing Municipality and Manduar in West Coast Region.

According to the Dutch couple, they did this generosity due to the global Coronavirus pandemic which is seriously disturbing the globe in all areas of lives for the past months.

The couple catalogues the food items like this: 100 bags of 50kg of rice, 50 gallons of 25 kg vegetable oil, 50 bags of onion, 25 bags of sugar, Mayonnaises among other food items.

“As part of the Covid-19 pandemic, we also slaughtered a bull at Manduar village on Saturday
where over 500 people from the communities of Penyem, Manduar and Bakary Sambouya including the Catchiest of Manduar, James Mendy benefited through a Take-Away process,” Dutch couple explained.

They informed that they will celebrate their 25 years of marriage (Silver Jubilee) in Holland in a form of fund raising and any amount of money generated from the said celebration will be plough back to the needy Gambians to better themselves.

From the said fund raising they added, they can feed over 2, 000 needy Gambians without putting into consideration who is who but who is in urgent need help.

The Dutch couple also donated 4 sets of football Jerseys to Manduar Young Football Team (MYFT) as a way of encouraging the young ones to take football seriously in their life.

“In this Holy Month of Ramadan, we also organized Iftar for the Muslim communities in the country to show to Gambians that they love Gambia and they don’t have boundary when it comes offering help to humanity,” Dutch couple said.

The sent their personal gratitude to Dominic Mendy their Gambian counterpart for the support he is rendering to them and the community of Manduar and other communities within West Coast Region in general.
