Broadway Restaurant managing director, Momodou Camara alias Obama, has donated sanitary materials to Pediatric Ward of Kanifing General hospital. The items worth D 20,400.

Mr. Saine said that the restaurant management did a great gesture to support neonates and children in the Pediatric ward during this global pandemic of COVID 19.

He called on the general public to observe social distance and respect the public health measures introduce by the Ministry of Health.

“At administrative level the hospital has established hand washing stations and screen is conducted before visitors are allowed entry within the hospital vicinity in order to protect visitors, patients and staffs from the spread of COVID 19,” he said.

He appealed to people to stay at home, to avoid chain of transmission, he said COVID 19 is real that people need to take it seriously.

Momodou Camara alias Obama the Proprietor of Broadway Restaurant during the donation ceremony told journalists that his management will seize the opportunity in order to fight and end COVID 19 and reduce the risk of neonates, children and staffs from contacting the disease.

Mr. Camara a native of Sabi in Basse who is currently living in Serekunda and managing a restaurant business is said to be a young entrepreneur who occupy the space of youth’s employment.

Momodou S Jallow a registered Nurse who facilitates the link between the two stakeholders told journalists that within the Pediatric ward, staffs make all effort to observe social distance between children and their mothers incase to avoid spread of the disease.

He said that mothers and children within the ward are properly taken care with a feeding method to avoid spread of the disease.

He said that neonates and children are part of the vulnerable group, he also urges Mothers to take extra precautionary measures to save children from COVID 19.

Mamour M Mbenga alias Kifa a journalist and a youth activist said there are lot of efforts need to be done in order to assist risk reduction and public awareness.

He said people should observe and practice the safety measures and stay at home.
