Covid-19: FTJ dispels rumor concern Jammeh’s intention

The interim leader of the APRC party has dispelled an ongoing rumor that the former president Yahya AJJ Jammeh intended to donate money to The Gambia government to fight against coronavirus pandemic.

Fabakary Tombong  Jatta who was a guest at the weekday’s morning talk show program, Coffee Time on West Coast Radio on Tuesday said he has no clue of where the circulated rumor emerged that former president Jammeh intends to donate to the country in fighting against the pandemic.

“I am not aware of it that former president Jammeh is willing to make donation towards the fight of coronavirus pandemic in The Gambia,” he said. He quickly added that ex “President Jammeh can do big things for his country, if he wishes to make any donation to fight COVID-19 pandemic in his country no one can deny him of doing that.”

Leader Jatta said complimenting the government efforts in the fight against the pandemic in the country should be the interest of every citizen. This assured that APRC will join the government to fight and control the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

Answering question concerning about former president Jammeh’s properties, he disclosed that Yahya Jammeh will be contented of the sale of his properties if the proceed from it is spend on the welfare of Gambian citizens “because (ex) president Jammeh can do any to better the lives of Gambians,” he claimed.

“What I am saying is that the man can do everything for the betterment of Gambians. His personal properties were been trespassed and taken by individuals. But he said to me if those properties are taken and spent on behalf of the Gambians, ‘I am content with it,’” FTJ disclosed.

He argued that APRC party is not having any internal problem among its members and the ongoing rumor about the party that there is conflict between the executives of the party “never exist.”
