The Spokesperson of United Democratic Party Tuesday confirmed to The Voice the expulsion of Brikama Area Council Chairman from the UDP.

The UDP in recent weeks was busy finding possible means to expel current BAC Chairman from the party since he was accused of disloyalty to the UDP.

Almami Fanding Taal in an interview said all necessary legal procedures demanded by law to expel any member that betrays the party has been used against Sheriffo Sonko, the current BAC chairman.

“The news about his expulsion from the UDP party is something true and this has already become official at the party level. So, all necessary legal procedures needed to expel him from becoming a party member at any level has already been exhausted and become effective.”

He continued that “he is from West Coast Region and so these are the very party members who have already exhausted all legal procedures for his termination from becoming a party member.”

Chairman Sheriffo Sonko including two other ward councilors from the region was also alleged to be expelled as members from the party following allegations of their disloyalty to the United Democratic Party.

But Sonko including two other alleged expelled ward councilors from the party are yet to make their side of the story after several attempts made to them by The Voice become futile.
