Youth of West Coast for Empowerment and Development (YWCED) in collaboration with Dr. Ismaila Ceesay has donated sanitary equipment to the Brikama Police Station in a fight against the spread of COVID-19 within the region.

The group also donated same materials to Brikama central Mosque, Fire Ambulance and Rescued Services, central car park, market women vendors as well as to Sanyang, Farato and Busumbala.

The donated items are six water drums, sanitary items amongst others.

Speaking at the presentation ceremonies, Abubacarr Darboe, YWCED spokesman, said the purpose of the donations is in line with their readiness to support the Government towards the crusade against the disease.

“We are young people with the main ambition of partaking in the growth of the west coast region and the country at large,” he said.

According to him, the association bought six water drums with sanitary items worth over D3000, while Dr. Ceesay too contributed the same amount as a citizen of the region noting that no government alone can do it all for her citizens.

He further applauded the proprietor of Jula Mansa Media outlet for his befitting coverage to the event.
