Self-Issued Red Card For Adama Barrow

As the relieved of duty of the former vice president with other ministers is no more a hidden news, one of the sacked ministers, Amadou Sanneh who formerly held the position of Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment has declared that President Barrow has issued a red card to himself since his decision to sacked his long time (political) allied, ex VP Ousainou Darboe whom he once regarded as his Godfather.

The former minister made this remarks on Saturday while addressing the crowd during the UDP organized rally held in Bundung Jolakunda open field.

Addressing the UDP supporters at the rally, he said “today if you sack the secretary general of UDP Ousainou Darboe and sacked Honourable Lamin Dibba and myself, you guys should tell him that he has in fact issued himself a red card.”

He told the gathering that they are all members of United Democratic Party (UDP), while he said that some came recently, while others have been members of the party since 1996.

“But you can remind President Adama Barrow the time he came to UDP. Was it in 2006 or 2007? He’s a newcomer,” he said.

According to him, President Barrow has been saying that for 22 years, UDP cannot remove Jammeh, while he fought for only three months to remove Jammeh. If that is the case, he went on, then the question is; where did Barrow’s political history start?

He narrated President Barrow’s political career that he first contested for parliamentary elections against Mamma Kandeh for Jimara Constituency and lost, he came to UDP where he was covered with a UDP blanket by choosing him as the party’s flag bearer for the 2016 Presidential election before leading a coalition.
