Training on Operational Matters for RI Members Underway

Rotary International (RI) district 9101 Tuesday commenced two- day training on operational matters and key policy for its members at Q city in Bijilo.

The training aimed at equipping the participants with skills on policy and other operation matters of the international organization to ensure effective and efficient functional of their activities.

Rotary International, a global charitable organization established to mobilizes relevant resources including money for supporting needy communities – clean and sufficient water supply, health facilities among others. The international organizations have various districts but in this part of the world is district 9101 headed by a governor.

Speaking to The Voice, Shola Joiner, chairman for the conference organizing committee said the forum brought together over three hundreds participants from ten countries in West Africa, adding the participants will be trains on different areas.

“During the first day the forum focused on training people who will run the district. The district is headed by a governor and assisted by assistant governor who will be responsible of other office of the district governor,” he said.

He added: “The second day will focus on training people who will be presidents and treasurers of their Rotary Clubs.”

However, he said the conference will enable the participants to know their district governors as well the governor will disclose to the participants his\her team. “He/She will also identify his\her intervention area for development,” he added.

Chairman Joiner revealed that the training is paramount in ensuring the participants converge to share ideas and build relation among themselves and also to ensure the advancement of the organization to benefit the needy.

The forum will also enable the officials to inform its members if changes are made in the organization so that they [members] will know something had been change, adding the officials will further use the conference to inform them about the current development of the organization or district.

He advised the participants to focus on the training, contribute as expected and practical to gained knowledge at the end of the training so as to improve the condition of the training.

Mr. Joiner announced that his organization will have the assembly on Thursdays 22 March at Kairaba Beach Hotel on the theme Be The Inspiration.
