UK Based Gambian Donates Sports Kits to Latrikunda School

Modou Lamin Gibba a UK based clothing designer donates football kits to his former school and cash amount of D10, 000, Latrikunda Upper Basic School on Monday 21st January, 2019.

Mr Gibba a Gambian designer based in Newcastle currently on a holiday in Gambia with his British wife and son visited to his former school and donated the school with Jerseys, footballs and D1000 cash to the School administration.

During the presentation ceremony at assembly ground in the school, Mr Cole,  a metal work teacher welcomed  the effort and contribution of Modou Lamin an ex-student of the school.

According to him, this is the first time he witnesses’ in the history of the school during his time that an ex student of the school contributed in the development of the school Physical Education (P.E) needs. He said that the sport kits arrive at the right time as the school was facing challenges of sports kits at this moment.

Cole also addresses the students at the assembly ground to work hard in order to become responsible leaders in the future.

He also reminds the students to be inspired by the effort and support delivered to the school by an ex-student.

Modou Lamin Gibba,   said that the donation of the sports kits is supported under the management of his street clothing brand, Jerry J clothing.

He explained that it’s a pleasure and motivation to support and contribute his quota to the development of his former school.

‘’This is just a beginning with the support of Jerry J clothing brand, we will continue to work out ways to development other things ahead in the future’’ said Gibba who graduates in the school in 2002.  He urged the students to work hard in their academic classes and deliver to expectation.

Modou Lamin Gibba a native from the Gambia travels to the UK in 2012 and lives in Newcastle with his British wife and two-year-old son, Jackson who inspired him to create his own fashion brand.

Jerry J has designs of T Shirts, Hoodies and the brand is aimed at targeting young men and women who loves fashion street wear brand gets its name from Lamin’s street name of Jerry and the first initial of Jackson’s name his son.

The clothing brand is becoming known in the streets of UK as prominent soccer stars, models and public figures wear the brand.
