Muhammed Lamin Sawaneh Foundation has been launched in Brikama Ginda in the West Coast Region over the weekend.
The foundation is a local Islamic charitable organization, which aims to promote Islam, support the neediest in the country.
Speaking at the launching, Lamin Jaiteh national coordinator for the Foundation said the foundation is a non political organization aim at empowering Islam through constructing mosque, and educate school going.
“We cannot render the whole services that are needed for the sustainability of the foundation alone; therefore, we deem it necessary to invite you so that we work collaboratively to attain the sustainable development goal,” he said.
He added: “However, am calling on all Gambians to come in large number to support the pro-Islamic foundation so as reinforce our religion and help the needy.”
He also commended the participants for responding to his called positively and their willingness to support the management for the development of the foundation.
And for Oustash Yakup Daffeh, a member of the foundation the idea is to empowering Islamic, urging for more of it kind in the country.
“Gambian should support the foundation to the core because it’s a measure of fighting for the religion; however, the foundation doesn’t belong to a particular person or family but it is for the entire Islam community in the country and beyond,” he noted.
Abdulkadir Camara also a member noted that Muhammed Lamin’s mission is to empower the Islamic religion and support the needy; adding initiating the foundation is a step to the right direction in promoting Islam.
Musukebba Kebbeh and Njundu Dibbasey both commended the founder for establishing the foundation, as they called on the public to embrace the good idea of the founder so that the foundations will benefit the Muslim community.
However, both Kebbeh and Dibbasey all prayed to Almighty Allah to bestow his blessing to the founder so to he continues establishing better obsessions that can contribute in the development of Islam as well as the poor.
