Late drama, shock wins mark NBRFA Division Three Matchweek Seven

Matchweek Seven of the North Bank Region Football Association (NBRFA) 2025/26 Third Division League produced dramatic results across the Western and Eastern Zones, with late goals, derby tension and notable upsets highlighting Saturday’s action.

In the Western Zone, Edinburgh FC and Barra United shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Essau Football Field. Muhammed Bidwell gave Edinburgh the lead in the 30th minute, while Musa Sanyang equalised for Barra early in the second half. Sheikh Omar Bah restored Edinburgh’s advantage in the 70th minute, but a late own goal by Lamin Joof in the 85th minute ensured the match ended level.

At Medina Kanuma Football Field, Jambarr FC secured a narrow 1-0 derby victory over Jalikasa FC. Abdou Jammeh scored the decisive goal in the 55th minute to hand Jambarr maximum points and local bragging rights.

In the Eastern Zone, Noo Kunda United registered a 2-1 comeback win over King Power FC at Noo Kunda Football Field. King Power took an early lead through Ali Sarr in the 7th minute, but Saikou Secka scored twice, in the 34th and 72nd minutes, to seal victory for the hosts.

Meanwhile, Blacka FA edged 2nd Infantry FC 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at Saaba Football Field. Musa Keita opened the scoring before 2nd Infantry responded through Alieu Bah and Maja Gibba. Abass Kinteh levelled for Blacka, while Kebba Daffeh netted a stoppage-time winner to secure all three points and maintain Blacka’s unbeaten run.

The results underline the growing competitiveness of the league as teams continue to battle for position in both zones.
