The Central River Region Football Association has handed down a strong disciplinary verdict following the abandoned football match between EJ Stars and Sami Real on April 12, after crowd trouble disrupted the encounter.
The association said the match was halted following serious incidents, including a pitch invasion, throwing of objects, and physical confrontations involving players and supporters.
After reviewing the circumstances, the CRRFA declared the match abandoned and nullified, with no points awarded to either team.
EJ Stars, as the home side, have been fined D25,000 for failing to control their spectators. The club will also play their next three matches away from their home ground as part of the sanctions.
On the individual front, Sami Real player Amadou Jallow has been fined D10,000 and suspended for three matches for violent conduct during the incident.
In addition, a supporter identified as Ebrima Sanneh, also known as Malcom, has been banned for three matches for his role in provoking the disturbance.
The CRRFA reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and ensuring safety at football matches in the region.
