The trial of 23 protesters arrested on July 22, 2025, at the premises of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) resumed on Thursday, September 11, at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, with the prosecution summoning its first witness.
Chief Inspector Alhassan Ebrima Bah was introduced as Prosecution Witness One (PW1) by Inspector B. Jallow, alongside ASP James Manga, Sergeant Mam Jammeh, and Sergeant M. Jaiteh, who all represented the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the matter before Principal Magistrate Thomas Touray.
The accused, who were previously detained at Mile II Prison on charges of unlawful assembly and procession, appeared with a defence team comprising Counsel F. Bondi, L. Jaiteh, A. Martins, Lamin J. Darboe, Jarra Jeng, J. Jobarteh, and K. Jallow.
