Cham Challenges Government OverSenegal’s Political Instability

By Kemo Kanyi

Momodou I Cham affectionately called MC Cham Junior, has challenged the government of President Adama Barrow to come out with a position and speak against the political instability in Senegal.

In an exclusive interview with The Voice, he alleged that the government has a hidden agenda because it fails to publiclycondemn the current situation in Senegal.

MC Cham Jr. urged the Barrow Government to take the bull by the horns and take the leading mediator’s role in settling the dispute in Senegal.

Senegal is supplying the Gambia with the internet, providing security protection to our president and his immediate family and our government doesn’t want to lose this favor, I believe that’s why they are still silent over the situation in Senegal,” he allegedly stated.

He urged President Barrow to use his brotherly relationship with Macky Sall to mediate in Senegal, adding that a telephone call or a visit to Macky could lead to dialogue.

He stated that the current situation in Senegal has affected businesses negatively in the Gambia, noting that the Gambia government should know that they can work with any other government, and Macky will not stay forever.

Admitting that Macky played a crucial role when Jammehrefused to step down, he said the Senegalese government took a leading role in ECOWAS to be here, TV stations too played important roles, but that doesn’t mean we have to overlook the current political unrest in the neighborhood.
