A Backway returnee Abubacarr Bah admitted to stealing five bottles of spray at 7 Days Mini Market at Pipeline when he was arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
According to the prosecution, Abubacarr stole the five spray bottles on 23 January 2024 but was apprehended and taken to Kairaba Police Station.
The 26-year-old Bah pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy as, according to him, he was working at a car wash to earn a living following his deportation to the country.
However, Principal Magistrate Sallah Mbai fined him D5000 in default to serve six months in prison.
