IPPC Lists Gambia Among 100 Most Climate-Vulnerable Countries

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) has listed The Gambia among the most climate-vulnerable countries, the executive director of the State disaster management agency Mr. Sanna Dahaba informed The Voice.

According to Mr. Dahaba, who is currently attending the COP 28 meeting in Dubai, The Gambia has also been listed among the top ten countries in terms of vulnerability to sea-level rise and coastal erosion.

The Gambian delegation to COP 28 will today issue a call for climate justice and make a demand for the Loss and Damage Fund.

The speakers at today’s engagement include the NDMA boss Mr. Sanna Dahaba, Gambia’s Permanent Representative to the UN and former environment and climate change minister Hon. Lamin B. Dibba, Gambia’s lead negotiator on Loss and Damage Mariama Ndow Jarju, Dr. Nfamara K Danpha and senior climate change negotiator Mr. Buba Pateh Jallow.
