Alleged Sukuta Traffic Murder Suspect to Appear Before High Court Today

Ousainou Bojang and his sister Amie Bojangare set to appear before Justice Ebrima Jaiteh of Banjul High Court today for the mentioning and plea taking of the alleged murder of two Police intervention unit officers.

It could be recalled that Ousainou Bojang and his Sister Amie Bojang first appeared before Principal Magistrate Omar Jabang of Kanifingwho later referred the court to the High Court since he lacked the powers to hear the case.

Prosecutors initially charged him with murder and terrorism.

According to the bill of indictment filed by investigators, the accused Ousainou Bojang on or about September 12 this year at Sukuta-Jabang traffic lights allegedly caused the death of Police Constable Sang J. Gomez and PatehJallow by shooting them with a pistol, the act prosecutors said is akin to terrorism.

His sister, Amie Bojang was also charged with accessory after the fact of the incident. The duos are yet to take their plea but have secured the services of a defence lawyer.

The particulars of offence stated that Amie Bojang, on or about the 12th day of September, 2023, at Sukuta-Jabang Traffic Lights and diverse places, in the Republic of The Gambia, knowingly or having reasons to believe that Ousainou Bojang has committed murder, provided transportation for his exit outside the jurisdiction of The Gambia, thereby committed an offense.
