CEO of Tomorrow inspires young entrepreneurs at Kotu SSS

The CEO of Tomorrow, on Tuesday, July 25, paid a courtesy call to Kotu Senior Secondary School (SSS) to inspire the students that are aspiring to nurture entrepreneurial skills and creativity.

The event was attended by VIPs which include the Mayor of KMC, the Permanent Secretary at MOBSE, the board chairman of Kotu SSS, and among others.

The program has left a lasting impact on the young minds who aspire to be CEO in the future. 

Addressing the gathering, the founder of CEO of Tomorrow, Dr. Roxie Hentz, expressed delight at the progress being made by the young aspiring entrepreneurs at Kotu SSS. 

She commended their dedication and hard work, urging them to continue their efforts in shaping a better future for the nation. 

Dr. Hentz emphasized the importance of collaboration and how it would play a pivotal role in achieving a vision of creating generations of skilled and innovative young entrepreneurs for the betterment of the nation.

The Principal of Kotu SSS, Mr Lamin AK Sanyang used the opportunity to express his appreciation to the CEO of Tomorrow for the courtesy call to the school.

He highlighted the numerous opportunities it has provided to the students, particularly in the field of business entrepreneurship. The program has not only exposed the students to exciting educational exchanges but also empowered them to think creatively and take initiative in the business world.

“As a school, we are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them academically and helps them to develop skills and character for success in life. Recently, our relations with the CEO of Tomorrow bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our school and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our students. Some students from our school were trained in entrepreneurship, business, finance, marketing, and management,” Sanyangexplained after the visit.

Lord Mayor of Kanifing, Mr. Talib Ahmed Bensoda, emphasized the need to nurture and develop young entrepreneurs as they play a critical role in job creation and national development. Drawing from his own experience, he shared how he began his entrepreneurial journey at a young age, which eventually led to the creation of employment opportunities for fellow Gambians. 

Mayor Bensouda commended the CEO of Tomorrow for her efforts in fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship among youth.

“Entrepreneurship is part of life and nation building. Without entrepreneurship, there is no productivity, and without productivity, there are no jobs, and without jobs, there is no society. Entrepreneurs are the beacon of hope in every society. I will like all of you to reflect on the values of business success which are: discipline, hard work, persistence, consistency, and responsibility,” Mayor Bensoda added.

The Permanent Secretary (PS) at the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE), Mr. Ebrima Sisawo, underscored the significance of the CEO of Tomorrow’s visit, stating that it is not only aimed at nurturing young entrepreneurs but also fostering intercultural exchange between the Gambia and the team from the USA. 

The PS affirmed that the Ministry’s commitment to incorporating entrepreneurial education into the curriculum, ensuring that future generations are equipped with the necessary skills and mindset to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic growth.

The Board Chairman of Kotu SSS, Mr Hassan SK Joof used the opportunity to pay gratitude to the visiting team and welcomed them to the school, saying the institution is among the best in the country and is a place for excellence as well.

The head girl of the school gave a vote of thanks and hailed the guest for the partnership with the school.
