Tujereng Natives Sentenced to 12 years.

A Magistrate Court in Brikama on Wednesday sentenced Abass Bojang and Kekuta Kongira, natives of Tujereng village to twelve years in prison after they were found guity on charges of conspiracy, felony, and stealing.

Police Prosecutor Corporal Ebrima Jallow narrated the fact of the case before the court before the accused persons were accordingly convicted and sentenced by the presiding Magistrate Ebou Sowe.

Furnishing the court with the detail of the incident, Prosecutor Jallo0w  disclosed  that the  accused Abass Bojang and Kekuta Kongira  on January 5th , 2023 at Tujereng Village in West Coastm, conspired among themselves to  steal  a borehole water pump machine belonging to  one Francise Ndene worth D30,000.

The accused persons who appeared remoseful in the dock pleaded guilty to the charges and craved the indulgence of the court to exercise mercy on them.

After listening to their plea of mercy, the presiding Magistrate Sowe accordingly convicted and sentenced them to a custodial jail term of five years on count one and seven years on count two which are to run consecutively.
