Holding a meeting at the Fulladu District of Central River River as part of his meet the people tour, President Adama Barrow has noted that since he begins his tour, the Senegalese have started thinking about the groundnuts in the Gambia.

He, therefore, advised farmers to start taking their groundnuts from the 4th of December 2022 to the government selling points, saying there is money to buy them immediately after weighing them.

“I know farming is difficult because I am a farmer and I was born in a farming community so I know the difficulties in farming. Therefore, I am telling the Gambian people that, this year (2022) is a year with a lot of challenges, but these challenges are global and are caused by Covid-19. This is because when it came all the airports in the world were shut down which include the closure of religious places and markets, this is what brings the whole problem we are facing,” Barrow told the people of Bansang.

H.E Barrow added that it “is only one thing that can end challenges which is to unite and hold on to one thing, tighten your belts and work hard to end the challenges, too much talk, and unnecessary comments will not change the narrative, and if we don’t make efforts to end these difficulties other difficulties will be joined on this one,” Barrow told the Bansang people.
