Team Kaba honor promises to regional & nationwide school football programs

In its campaign Manifesto, Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo  Gambia Football Federation GFF President-elect  “Team Kaba 2022-2026” promised to consolidate the gains made in grassroots football by making it the core of its development agenda.

He promised regional and nationwide school football programs with annual U-12 academy competitions and U-15 regional and national leagues that will culminate with the establishment of a U-15 team as the basis of our national teams.

However, the country’s furthest region, URR, continues to set the pace in that regard as their regional U-15 league continues to gather pace under the auspices of the region’s football association, (URRFA), the official football authorities representing the GFF in that part of the country.

Over the weekend, at the Basse High Level playing field, Phoenix Academy defeated Swansea 2-0 while Karbantang and Koba Kunda played out a goalless stalemate.

At the end of the regional phase of these leagues, the national championship will be held at the home of Gambian football, the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum. It is from this national championship, that the best players will be selected by our expert group of national team coaches to help set up the national team.
