Gambia to entertain Burkina Faso in the U-23 return leg fixture today

The Gambia will Burkina Faso in the return leg fixture of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers today, on Tuesday 27 September 2022.

The match which will serve as a home for The Gambia will be played in the Grand Stade de Marrakech in Morocco at 6 pm.

Due to their poor standards of stadiums, both The Gambia and Burkina Faso will play their home games in the qualifiers away. With Burkina Faso playing their home games in Benin, while The Gambia will play their home matches in Morocco respectively.

The Scorpions defeated the Stallions 1-0 away during their first leg played at the Cotonou Stadium in Benin.

The Scorpions Herbanian striker Momodou Bojang scored the only goal in the game after converting a penalty spot in the 76 minutes of the second half.

The Scorpions’ Al Hilal mesmerizing winger Lamin Jarjou created the Gambia’s penalty after being brought down in the penalty box in the 75 minutes of the game.

Meanwhile, Coach Abdou Jammeh has promised to work on his tactics despite winning their first leg away against Burkina Faso in Cotonou, Benin last Wednesday

“Now we got the idea about our opponents on how they want to play. In the first half, we were a bit floppy, because we were expecting a bit of physical football from the Burkinabe,” Coach Jammeh further said.
